"After setting up Glass Manifesto in 2003 and learning to be a business person, my old energy is back as an artist and I don't have to grapple with the medium - I am humbled by it. Now I can lean on it to start a discussion of those things that are important to me.
The act of physically making the Demarcation series of cast, blown, pulled and cut glass delights me with every step and is an ongoing exploration of my investigations into this combination of casting and blowing."

Kevin Gordon

Born Norway 1968, immigrated to Scotland and then to Australia in 1980.

Through his family Kevin started to develop his skills in working with glass, both his parents are glass engravers/artists and his sister a Glass blower. Working with glass for 15 years his techniques have continued to develop, first working with architectural glass until 1995, and since has been working as a glass artist/designer working with glass blowers initially in Victoria and now resides and is part of the establishment of glass in West Australia.

"In the design process of my work I look for how nature evolves, I look for the underlying logic and formulas that create nature's designs, not so much to imitate but to look how it is formed. I use this by breaking down the design to the basic elements or fractals, which repeat in a form of mathematical formula that builds up to make the whole design. Taking this into the challenge of working with glass to exhibit and expose the many qualities of the glass, to push the boundaries of what skills I have developed in cold working in conjunction with the skills of others which I work with in the hot glass in its many applied process to finally achieve my work."

BVA Sydney College of Arts Object Art and Design – Glass, BFA Honours

Worsley’s work can be seen at State Gallery of Western Australia.

“Our attraction to light has existed since the beginning of time, all organisms, plants and animals, respond to light. Living by the ocean in Australia I am greatly inspired by the light we receive here. Shimmers and glimmers of light dancing on the water, the sun’s rays flickering through the trees, reflections and refractions and sunrises and sunsets and are all a big part of my inspiration and art making. I also draw inspiration from patterns in nature, from the flora and fauna that surrounds us, both above and below the ocean.”
