Rebecca completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts, receiving first class honours in 2003 and in 2007 was awarded a Master of Fine Art (Research) from the Tasmanian School of Art, University of Tasmania.
In 2004 she received the CAST Craft Mentorship and an Arts Tasmanian grant to train in the kiln techniques of glass fusing, a technique she continues to explore and develop in a sculptural way. Her practice crosses the boundaries between art, craft and design to produce sculptures, lights, architectural installations and large-scale public art commissions.
Recent CV highlights include winner of the 2007 prestigious Moorilla Scholarship (MONA), winner of the 2007 Peoples Choice Award (glass section) Hobart City Art Prize and 2008 finalist in the Ranamok Glass Prize. Her works are held in private collections worldwide and public collections in Tasmania.
Recently Rebecca was awarded an Art Tasmanian Grant to create a new body of glass and steel sculptures. In 2010 Rebecca undertook a series of residencies at Historic Tasmanian Lighthouses and the resulting new work will be shown in a solo exhibition at the Glass Artists’ Gallery in July 2011.
